Take To The Water

Enjoy the Knysna Lagoon - swimming, boating, canoeing, fishing, scuba diving, and snorkeling are just some of your options. Regulations regarding usage of the lagoon are available from National Parks Board (Tel: 044 382 2095) and tide tables can be obtained from the Knysna Tourism Bureau.

Explore the Knysna Quays, a waterfront development, which boasts fine vintage wines, fresh seafood, curios and much, much more. Shop, eat or simply sit on the quayside and watch the boats rocking on the tide.

Soak up the sun on any one of the beautiful beaches

Visit the Holy Trinity Church in Belvidere - a beautiful example of 12th Century Norman architecture.

At Millwood House Museum unique old photographs of Millwood in bygone days and scenes of old Knysna bring history to life.

Head For The Forest
The Knysna Forest can be enjoyed on foot, on horseback, by bicycle or by car or jeep. A map of the forest area is available from the Knysna Tourism Bureau which shows all the roads, routes and walks you can explore. The walks range from the easy to difficult and from short (1 Km) to long (9 Km) so that you can choose which one suits you best. The route in the Garden of Eden is wheelchair friendly. The forest can be entered at any time during the day but you are advised to leave before sunset.
   Entry is free but some entry points will require you to sign a permit and others charge a R4 entry fee during peak season Guided walks & tours are available. For more details contact:
