9.11 CONCLUSION

It is our opinion that these proposals will act as a catalyst for future sustainable urban regeneration in the immediate vicinity. The concept of a Public-Private Partnership to develop Municipal lands for Public use will ensure delivery of public facilities to an under utilized area of the Municipality. The Developers aim is to have this vision realized for 2010, the World Cup. The proposals will incorporate the latest sustainable/renewable technologies to ensure there is no unrealistic additional pressure brought to bear on the Municipality infrastructure (Water Supply and Power Usage in particular).

The proposed vision for this area of Knysna embraces the current proposals for the need of the enhancement of the lower central industrial area and will create a vibrant community catering for local work, rest and play needs through the provision of both public and private facilities. Together we can make this happen.
